Can any doctor write a prescription for compounded medications?
Most of the time yes. Our prescriptions come from
  • Doctors’ of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Medical Doctors (M.D.)
  • Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners
Are compounded medications covered by insurance?
There are some insurance plans that cover compounded medications. Please check with your insurance company to know your specific coverage. Custom Health Rx does not bill insurances. We can supply you with an Insurance Claim Form that you may send to your insurance carrier.
I have a compounded medication that is 1 month past its "Do Not Use Beyond" date—can I still use it?
You should not use a compounded drug or medication beyond the labeled "Do Not Use Beyond" date. Please email us at customhealthrx@gmail.com ; a pharmacist will respond to your email within 24 hours.
Will I Have to Sign for My Package?
It depends. If your prescription contains a restricted ingredient, then an adult has to sign for the package. Otherwise, the delivery method can be left to the driver.
Do you need a prescription?
Yes. A written prescription from a licensed practitioner.
What are the types of medicines do you compound?

What are the differences between compounded medicines and commercially available drugs?
Commercially available medications are manufactured by drug companies in bulk quantities for the general population. On the other hand, compounded medications are ordered by a doctor, individually prepared by a compounding pharmacy, and made primarily to suit your health specific needs.
How can your pharmacy help me in filling my prescription?
For new prescriptions, you may drop your prescription off in our one-way locked box outside of the Pharmacy or you may have your doctor call 734-667-4106 or fax 734-667-4400 a prescription to our pharmacy.
For refills, you may call our pharmacy or download our app
How to obtain additional refills since I have no more refills left on my prescription?
You may have your doctor call our pharmacy at 734-667-4106 to approve refills for you. Or reach us directly to contact your doctor to request for refills. Request your additional time for refill approvals.

How Do I Discard My Medication?
Each medication has specific clearance requirements. If you are uncertain on the disposal requirements, please reach out to your pharmacy, municipal, local law enforcement office, or county government to be aware of any medication take-back programs in your area. Also check If FDA provides additional information on medication disposal.
